Ilocos Adventure Day 1: Laoag City

In Laoag, we stayed at UKL Hotel for 3 days and 3 nights. It’s a good place for the tourist like us because it’s walking distance to St. William’s Cathedral, Sinking Bell Tower and also their market.

Our first destination was Malacanang North. At the back of Malacanang North, you will see the Paoay Lake.

This was the place were Marcos lived during Ferdinand Marcos was the president. I love their sala.

Paoay Lake

Our next destination was La Paz Sand Dunes. I can’t believe that there was a dessert in Ilocos. We got our tan line here. Hehehe!

My favorite is the Paoay Church. This is the famous church in Laoag because of its distinct architecture.

We also tried the Laoag Empanada and Bagnet. Bagnet is like a “pritong liempo”. It’s so yummy! You must try this!
Sinking Bell Tower

They called this a "Sinking Bell Tower simply because its sinking. Before, you can enter  to this tower. But years goes by, you can not enter to this tower due to the fact that this tower is sinking.

There were a lot of Musuem in Laoag. We went in Musuem of Ilocos Norte and Mausoleum of Marcos in Batac. We saw the body of Ferdinand Marcos but camera is not allowed so we can’t take a picture.
